The Kirkland Lake Goldminers of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) are currently accepting applications for a Part Time Assistant Coach (15-20 hrs per week) position.
The successful applicant will report directly to the Head Coach/General Manager
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
✓ Recognize Opportunities for development and improvement of players performance, skills, and conduct
✓ Monitor and evaluate the performance of players both on and off the ice and provide appropriate feedback to the Head Coach and players
✓ Build a positive and achievement-oriented team environment
✓ Work with the Head Coach to identify players individual learning techniques to foster a positive and successful outcome both on and off the ice
✓ Adhere to the Policies and Rules as established by the NOJHL and the Kirkland Lake Goldminers
✓ Provide High Level on ice support and drill execution to all players
The successful applicant should possess a strong hockey background in playing, coaching, and evaluating. They must be able to work as a cohesive unit with other coaching personnel, have effective communication skills to support and foster positive relations with the players and could well under fast paced game situations.
The successful applicant must be available 4-5 days per week for practices (1-2 hrs.), be available for 85% of scheduled home games and road trips. Availability will be from August 2022-April 2023
You will bring to our organization playing and or coaching experience at the Junior level. High Performance 1 Certification. Excellent communication skills. Experience working with Instat is considered an asset. Able to provide a clean Vulnerable Sector Check and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and if necessary, holidays.
