Marcoux off to West Virginia University

The Kirkland Lake Goldminers and Camille Marcoux are pleased to announce Camille’s commitment to West Virginia University, to continue his hockey career. The 5’10” hard-nosed centreman, from Goose Bay, Labrador/Newfoundland, spent 3 seasons with the Goldminers, establishing himself as a member of the community, and a leader on the hockey team.

After being re-acquired from the Campbellton Tigers of the Maritimes Junior Hockey League, Camille logged 30 points, including 14 goals in 23 games. Goldminers Coach Kyle Smart says, “the WVU Mountaineers are getting a smart, hard working, 200 foot player whose tenacity is contagious!”

Marcoux becomes the second graduating member with an ACHA D1 commitment, alongside good buddy Lucas Renzoni, who committed to Ohio University.

Marcoux thanks his family, friends, coaches along the way, billet families, teammates and the Town of Kirkland Lake, for making his 3 year junior hockey journey “a memorable one.”
