4 GoldMiners Are Moving On Up

The GoldMiners are happy to inform the Miners Nation, that 4 of last year’s members are moving into the College hockey ranks, south of the border.

Former Captain Ashton Amaya, takes his goal scoring talents to Aurora University, in Aurora, Illinois, home of the Spartans, where Ashton, of Gilbert, Arizona, will team up with one-time former GoldMiner AJ Rupert. Coach Jason Bloomburg’s DIII Spartans open the season against some old friends, Ethan Strong and Logan Fredericks, at UW-Stevens Point.

Last year’s leading point getter, 5th in the NOJHL, Alex Storjohann, of Anthem, Arizona, stays in the East, committing to the SUNY at  Cortland. Storj will bring his all around offensive game to Coach Joe Cardarelli’s Red Dragons, of the SUNYAC DIII conference.

Big Mike Hans will also be in DIII’s SUNYAC Conference, as the Slingerlands, NY native stays in-state at SUNY at Canton, joining former GoldMiners Dylan Rosen, Zach Pease and Josh Erickson on the Roos.

T.J. Oricchio, also stays in-state, as the Plattsburgh, New York defenseman will patrol the blueline for the Rochester Institute of Technology, in Rochester, New York, members of the ACHA.
