SUDBURY, Ont. – The Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) has released its current 2024 preseason schedule.
Presently, each of the league’s 12-member clubs have multiple contests on their respective exhibition slates leading up to the start of the NOJHL’s 2024-25 campaign.
On-ice action will feature four teams taking part in a two-day event August 31-September 1 at John Rhodes Community Centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., with the host Soo Thunderbirds, as well as the Soo Eagles, Elliot Lake Viking and Espanola Paper Kings taking part.
The Blind River Beavers, Greater Sudbury Cubs, Iroquois Falls Storm and Kirkland Lake Gold Miners, French River Rapids and Hearst Lumberjacks also have preseason match-ups on their dockets.
Meanwhile, the Powassan Voodoos and Timmins Rock, will see inter-league action in the Cottage Cup Showcase, Aug. 27-29, in Wasaga Beach, Ont.
There they’ll take on competition from the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) and Jungadler Mannheim, a junior side from Germany.
The NOJHL’s 2004-25 regular season gets underway September 12.
Also highlighting the league’s schedule will be its annual Showcase event, which goes October 1-2 at Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports Complex in Sudbury.
The NOJHL champion will advance to represent the league at the 2025 Centennial Cup Canadian National Junior A Championship, May 8-18, 2025, in Calgary, Alta.
