Miners announce more signings.

KIRKLAND LAKE - The Kirkland Lake Gold Miners have announced a couple of more signings.

Veteran goalie Kenny Fitzgerald will be back between the pipes this season. Gold Miners’ General Manager and Head Coach Marc Lafleur says he is extremely happy to have Fitzgerald back in the Miners’ uniform,

“His numbers last year were comparable to any goalie in Canada and he is a good guy in the dressing room.”

Meantime the club also signed forward Tristen Hazlett. He is a 19-year-old from Lakeville Minnesota and was the Team Captain for the Lakeville North High School Panthers who lost in the finals of the State Championship.

Lafleur describes Hazlett as being extremely competitive.

“His biggest asset is his competitiveness he is also a gifted goal scorer that can down right play.”

Lafleur adds Hazlett will be one of the players counted on to replace the goal scoring lost by the players who will not be back this season.
