Our next guest on our 24/7 Hockey Show on July 23rd will be 21 year old Dan Morin who played with the 2013 -2014 Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League champions, the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners along with host Jay Houslander and our co-host, the outspoken Marcel Audet. We will discussing the Gold Miners and being recruited from the NOJHL.
Dan Morin was the 2013 – 2014 captain for the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League Kirkland Lake Gold Miners. The 21 year old defenseman from Ignace, Ontario played for coach Marc Lafleur in Kirkland Lake, Ontario for his final junior ‘A’ season where Morin scored 6 goals and had 23 assists in 39 NOHL regular season games.
Morin’s Gold Miners eliminated the number one team in the nation last season, the Soo Thunderbirds in five NOJHL championship games. Dan added another 8 points in 13 post-season games with one goal and 7 assists before heading to the 2014 Dudley Hewitt Cup in Wellington, Ontario in April 2014. In 3 games in the Central Canada Championships at the Dudley Hewitt, the 6’3 and 215 lbs blueliner assisted on one goal.
Morin will make his minor professional hockey career game debut in October 2014 with the Southern Professional Hockey League Knoxville IceBears that are located in Knoxville, Tennesse.
