2 Signings & 2 Trades

Kirkland Lake GoldMiners Coach & GM Ryan Wood has announced 2 signings and 2 trades.

Joining the GoldMiners are a pair of Westerners, dman Jordan Kohlman, an 18 yr old from Sherwood Park, Alberta , 5’10” 170, played with OHA Edmonton Prep, & Grand Prairie Storm of the Alberta Jr League last season.

And 18 yr old Tristan Day, from Lasalle, Manitoba. The 5’11” 160, forward/dman, played with Pembina Valley Hawks AAA Midgets, adding 32 pts, 78 pims in 48 games. Tristan also got into a couple of Manitoba Jr Hockey League games with Waywayseecappo Wolverines.

Coach Wood is excited about the additions, saying, “Tristan brings a combination of skill and grittiness that was missing last season.” While Kohlman, “is a smooth dman who is good friends with Quinn Schneidmiller, so maybe we have a pairing already made.” Wood goes on to say, “both these kids had options, so we are lucky they chose us and the NOJHL.”

Leaving the GoldMiners are Linden Namagoose, traded to Amherst Ramblers (Nova Scotia) of the Maritimes Junior League, and Vito Sica, dealt to the Stayner Siskins of the Provincial Junior Hockey League. Both traded for PDF’s (player development fee).

Coach Wood and the Club thank both these fine young gentlemen for their contributions to our success last year, and wish them nothing but the best in the future.
