Lafleur Steps Down as Coach/GM

The Kirkland Lake GoldMiners Jr A hockey Club of the NOJHL, today announce, that Head Coach & General Manager Marc Lafleur, has resigned his position with the GoldMiners, to accept similar responsibilities with the Hearst Lumberjacks.

Marc joined the GoldMiners 5 seasons ago from the Rouyn Noranda Huskies of the QMJHL, and in those 5 years built a winner the Town was proud of. in 2014, the GoldMiners were League Champions and Dudley-Hewitt Cup participants, in 2015 Eastern Conference Champs, league runner-up, and Dudley-Hewitt Cup host. This past season, the Club lost out to League Champion Powassan Voodoos in the Eastern semis.

The GoldMiners Hockey Club sincerely thank Marc for his contribution to the organization over the last 5 years, and wish him success with his hometown Hearst Lumberjacks, this opportunity also allows Marc to be closer to his family, in Hearst.

The search for a new Coach & General Manager to take the reigns of the GoldMiners begins immediately.
