GoldMiners get Maracle & Ward for Stortz

The KL GoldMiners announce they have traded center Brayden Stortz to the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL, in exchange for 18 yr old, 6’3″ 185 lb center, Brodie Maracle,  ’97 born right winger William Ward & a PDF.

Maracle, from Deseronto, Ontario, averaged about a point per game 2 seasons ago for the Deseronto Storm, and saw action in 51 games for the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL last season. As a rookie he notched 12 points , including 9 goals. Brodie was also a member of Team Ontario, that participated in the 2016 National Aboriginal Championships, this past May in Mississauga. Coach Lafleur says, with his size and skill, he expects big things from Maracle in an expanded role, as a GoldMiner.

Ward from Whitby, Ontario has played parts of the last 3 seasons in the OJHL, with the Whitby Fury, Lindsay Muskies & Wellington Dukes. The 5’10” 170 lb right shooting winger was a 2013 draft pick of the Belleville Bulls of the OHL. Coach Lafleur expects Ward to add some veteran Jr A experience to the squad.
