Training Camp News

The Kirkland Lake Goldminers Junior A Hockey Club is pleased to announce that commencing Monday November 2nd , we will be taking the ice for our 2020 training camp in preparation for the upcoming NOJHL season. These 4-week skills and drills sessions allows coach Kyle Smart to establish baseline fitness levels as well as introduce systems to returning players as well as our new additions to the Goldminers this season. Players will also be asked to attend mandatory off ice training sessions both in person following COVID 19 protocols and as well as online education sessions in co-operation with Hockey Canada, the Ontario Hockey Federation and the Cochrane Timiskaming Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association who is a partner with the NOJHL. All players will have been screened and/or tested following the Ministry of Health COVID 19 protocols before coming into the community, and players will be self-isolating upon arrival – thus no public appearances will be available for the first 14 days.

As per the Town of Kirkland Lake Municipal regulations regarding COVID 19, spectators will not be allowed entrance into the building to watch the on-ice sessions, however, we will be posting video clips and pictures via our social media platform on a daily basis. Additionally, we will be introducing each player to the general public utilizing this method as well.
