KIRKLAND LAKE, Ont. – The Timmins Rock got goals from four different skaters to lead them to a 4-1 triumph over the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners Saturday in a Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League meeting at the Joe Mavrinac Community Complex.

Continuing their dominance over the Gold Miners, the Rock’s Justin Charette found himself free in front and slipped one under Kirkland Lake starter Ethan Barron 14 and a half minutes into the first period.

Timmins tacked on another before the intermission with Nicolas Pigeon supplying his NOJHL-leading 63rd point of the season as he lifted in a close-range backhand off an odd-man rush.

The Gold Miners did get one back late in the second stanza off the stick of Benjamin Armatage at 17:20 as he was credited with his eighth goal of the season while beating Rock netminder Jacob Brown.

Moving to the third, the visitors’ Yan Bessette helped put the game away as he found himself wide-open in front and chipped one by Barron after being set-up from the left side.

Nolan Ring then capped off the road victory for Timmins as he went top shelf during a two-man advantage in the back-half of the session to round out the night’s scoring.

The Rock have now not lost to the Gold Miners since back on November 29, 2018, a run of 28 straight victories.

It also sees the NOJHL East Division-leading Rock improve to 29-6-3-2 while the cellar-dwelling Gold Miners dropped to 4-33-1-0.
