The Kirkland Lake Goldminers are pleased to announce a trio of returnees to the club for the 20-21 NOJHL season, as Connor Van Weelie, Lucas Renzoni and Camille Marcoux will be back in GoldMiners colours this season.
17 year old swift skating Connor Van Weelie, from Hopeville, Ontario, led the club in goals, as a rookie with 22 and added 11 assists for a 33 pt rookie season, to finish 2nd in club scoring. Coach & GM Kyle Smart says “with a year of junior hockey behind him, ‘Wheels’ has a chance to be a dominant player in the division.”
Camille Marcoux, 18 from Goose Bay, Nfld & Labrador, is a hard working two-way centerman that came into his own in the second half of last season, solidifying his spot in the lineup, contributing 12 goals and 10 helpers, to go along with 51 pims in 51 games. Camille was also a big part of the PK unit.
Defenseman Lucas Renzoni returns to the club for his 2nd season. The 18 year old, Maple, Ontario native, saw action in 53 games as a rookie, adding 2 goals and 12 points. under D Coach Tom sinclair, Renzoni got more comfortable as the season went on, and appears poised for a bigger role this season.
