Miners Add Wagner Brothers in Separate Deals

Kirkland Lake GoldMiners Coach & General Manager Ryan Wood, continued to make adjustments to the club roster ahead of the December 1st, 7pm roster cutdown deadline.

Saturday the GoldMiners acquired Aiden Wagner, 20, 6’1 180 lb forward, from Langley, BC. Aiden was with Steinbach Pistons of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. Coach Wood says, ” We have had good reports on what Aiden brings to the club, as a 20 yr old, he’ll bring veteran leadership to the room and we will slot him in on one of our top lines.”

Not satisfied, Coach Wood, then dealt for Aiden’s brother Nicholas, an 18 yr old, 5’10’ 175 forward, who was with the Selkirk Steelers of the MJHL. Coach Wood says of Nick, ” we think all Nick needs is an opportunity to show his stuff, and he’ll get that chance with us.”

Both are expected to be in Monday night’s matchup in Powassan vs the Voodoos.

To make room and stay within the roster limit, the club released, Justin King, Kyle Kuznik, Aidan McNabb and Austin Caza.  Late last week Jordan Kohlman was dealt to the Revelstoke Grizzlies,  Max Newnam was dealt to Powassan and dman Troy Daniels joined us from Elliot Lake.
