Miners Add Defensive Depth

The Kirkland Lake Goldminers have aded some defensive depth, signing 18 year old Mason Thomas.

The ’03 born Thomas, from Stony Plain, Alberta, joins the Miners after spending last season with the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes, of the USPHL, splitting time between their Elite and Premier Division teams.

 Coach & General Manager Kyle Smart says, “we expect Mason to come in and compete for minutes”, adding, “we now have competition for spots in practice, we can dress 20 per game and we currently have 24 on the roster.”

 The 6’0, 175 lb, right shooting Thomas, is expected to make his Goldminers debut, on the road this weekend, with the club traveling to Hearst Friday and Cochrane Sunday.
