After a tough training camp battle among 6 goaltenders, Coach & GM Ryan Wood, along
with Goalie Instructor Brian Bertoncello, say the position is in good hands, with Gregory
Brassard & Parker Swanson emerging from the battle.
Brassard, a 19 yr old 6’2″ 210, from Pierrefonds, Quebec, joins us after spending the last
two seasons at The Millbrook School, in Millbrook, NY. They play in the USHS-Prep
league, where Greg posted outstanding numbers. Coach Wood saw Gregory at the
Chowder Cup this summer and was duly impressed.
Parker Swanson, will partner with Brassard to give the GoldMiners what Coach Wood
decsribes as “an outstanding pair of big goaltenders.” Swanson, a 20 yr old from Hopkins,
Minnesota, stands 6’4″ 190 lb. Last season Swanson appeared with Kerry Park Islanders
of the VIJHL and Cowichan Valley Capitals of the BCHL, the previous season saw
Swanson spend time with both Belle Tire U18 and the US National U17 team, in the US
Development Program.
