$6,239.56 was raised by well over 300 kind-hearted Kirkland Lakers that turned out for the Fundraising Skate for Humboldt at the Kirkland Lake Community Complex.
The event organized by the Town Of Kirkland Lake, the Kirkland Lake Minor Hockey Association & the Kirkland Lake Jr A GoldMiners Hockey Club, featured Memorial placards and stickers, a raffle for a Mitch Marner, Toronto Maple Leafs jersey, laying of 16 roses at center ice, a community photo & video of the group doing the Humboldt Broncos cheer, and a heartwarming moment when former Humboldt Bronco & current Kirkland Lake GoldMiner, Quinn Schneidmiller was introduced.
Team Captain Marsh Nikitin was also on hand, inclement weather, unfortunately kept many players and Coach Ryan Wood from attending.
Thanks to all that participated, Tim Horton’s, Lee O’Reilly’s Skate Sharpening Shop, Northern College, former NHL’er Dick Duff, Town of KL, KLMHA, GoldMiners players & staff, all the volunteers that offered a hand and of course, all the area residents that came out to show their love and support for our Hockey Brethren, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.
#Sticktaps to the many that made a special trip to the Complex just to drop their donation in the box. Cheers, Kirkland Lake!
