Junior Hockey is Back!

Junior hockey is back.!!

And that is music to the ears of aspiring young players who hope to help the Kirkland Lake Goldminers make their mark for the balance of the 2021-2022 season as action in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) resumes.

“We are super excited that the Province of Ontario , The Ontario Hockey Federation and the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League and the Town of Kirkland Lake are allowing us to play hockey again this year,” said Goldminers President Derek Callahan.

The Goldminers open the season Saturday February 5th with a road game against division rival French River Rapids and then re-open t at home as former Goldminers Kyler Campbell and Seth Coulter make their return to Kirkland Lake as the Goldminers host the Greater Sudbury Cubs on Saturday February 12th starting at 7:00 PM .

“We are grateful and overjoyed to deliver the exciting news that Goldminer hockey is returning to Kirkland Lake on Saturday February 12th,” said Callahan.  “We want applaud the passion, energy, and patience of our season ticket holders, as well as those new or aspiring fans, during these uncertain times and we look forward to the continued support from all those in the community of Kirkland Lake and surrounding areas.

 “Walk up or general admission cost for fan appreciation night on February 12th will be $5.00 per person.” says Callahan. “The organization wanted to show the community that we truly appreciate the support that everyone has given us and wanted to give back as we start our push to secure our playoff spot in 2022. Additionally , the club would like to announce that all 2021-2022 season ticket holders will be admitted to all home playoff games this season at no additional cost.”

Please note that Ontario QR Vaccination Code either paper or digital copy is required for entry to the Kirkland Lake Complex , Facemasks to be always worn while not eating or drinking and our maximum arena capacity is set at 387 Fans until further notice.
