The Kirkland Lake GoldMiners are thrilled to announce the signing of a pair of former Richmond Generals (USPHL Elite League) teammates, Ashton Amaya and TJ Oricchio
The Miners are pleased to add 20 yr old, 6′ , 170lb right-winger Ashton Amaya, to the lineup. The Gilbert, Arizona native spent last season with the Richmond Generals of the USPHL Elite League. The offensive force had 55 points including 22 goals in 41 games last season and was named to the USPHL Southern Conference All-Star team. Ashton scored the goal of the year in the USPHL last season and it was featured on ESPN Sportscenter Top Plays of the Week last season as well. He is an elite goal scorer and will have an immediate impact on the scoresheet every night next year for the GoldMiners .Coach Marc Lafleur says, “Ashton has the talent & potential to be among the NOJHL top scorers.”
The Goldminers are thrilled to announce the signing of Plattsburgh, New York native, Tomas TJ Oricchio. The 19yr old, 6′, 180lb defenceman, joins the Miners from the Richmond Generals of the USPHL Elite League, where he notched 11 points including 4 goals last season. Tomas was selected to the USPHL Southern Conference Allstar Team and was named the Generals Elite ” Defensive MVP ” last season. Coach Lafleur says, TJ will bring some veteran leadership and poise to the back end, as “our scouts had nothing but great things to say about this young man. ” Tomas is an extremely smooth skating, puck moving defenseman. He has an extremely high hockey IQ and a high skill set to match. Tomas plays a complete game and is extremely solid in all 3 zones all over the ice in any situation.
