Goldminers Acquire Veteran William Neeld

The Kirkland Lake Goldminers have acquired ’02 born forward William Neeld, from Division rival Hearst Lumberjacks. Goldminers Head Coach & GM Kyle Smart says, “Will is a kid we tried to sign last season.”

Neeld a 6’3” 195 winger from Perkiomenville, Pa, put up 18 pts for Hearst last season, playing a gritty, tough brand of hockey. Says Smart, “no doubt he makes us harder to play against, we couldn’t be more pleased adding Will to our forward group”. Smart adds, “as a 20 yr old, with experience in this division and league, we look for Will to help some of the rookies get over the hump early in the year.”

Smart and the Goldminers will be back on home ice midweek to continue training camp, after beginning camp in Haileybury, Will will join his new teammates after the Holiday weekend.

The Goldminers see their first pre-season action Tuesday, hosting the Cochrane Crunch at 7pm, at the Complex.
