Busy Weekend for the GoldMiners

The Kirkland Lake GoldMiners welcome the Legion Branch 87 to The Joe, Friday night, for our annual Remembrance Day event.

We are also pleased to host our 1st Annual Emergency Services 911 Appreciation Night as members of the O.P.P. , paramedics and firefighters join us, as we take on the Soo Michigan Eagles, at 7:30.

We invite you to come out and pay your respects to our Veterans and our current day Emergency Front-Line workers .

Poppies will be available.

 

Then, Saturday, members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment, the Ministry of Natural Resources Enforcement Unit and the Kirkland Lake GoldMiners Junior “A” Hockey Club will be holding their annual “Fill a Cruiser for the Holidays Food Drive”. The participants will once again be out collecting non-perishable food items..

The first collection will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Foodland Grocery Store on Government Road East in Kirkland Lake.

The second collection will occur from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Pettenuzzo’s Independent Grocer on McChesney Avenue in Kirkland Lake.

Staff Sergeant Rick Witty Kirkland Lake OPP Detachment Commander states, “We want to build on last year’s overwhelming success. All non-perishable food donations will be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards helping those in need through the Salvation Army Food Bank”.

Then of course Saturday night at 7:00, the GoldMiners host the Espanola Express at the Complex, hope to see you this weekend!
