Brandon Wolfe Heading to NCAA, Salem State

Goldminers Co-Captain, Brandon Wolfe is off to the NCAA!

20 year old Brandon Wolfe of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Kirkland Lake Gold Miners will be headed to Salem, Massachusetts to join the DIII NCAA Salem State Vikings hockey program for the fall 2016. The Vikings play in the DIII NCAA Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The 6’0” and 200 lbs Granger, Indiana native had 16 goals and 28 assists in 54 regular season games with the Gold Miners during the 2015 – 2016 NOJHL season. In 15 post – season games with the Gold Miners, the 20 year old Wolfe added four goals and eight assists in Kirkland Lake.

In four games at the 2016 Dudley Hewitt Cup in Kirkland Lake, Brandon had added two goals and two assists to his season total for the Gold Miners.

Brandon told the Junior Hockey Network that “they are a championship winning team that is only graduating five players, so the majority of the team is coming back which I think will translate into a great season for 2016 – 2017. With my game, I think that I can bring speed and a great forechecking that will hopefully help continue the success the program saw last season at Salem.”
