The Kirkland Lake Goldminers have signed defenseman Dayton Keith of Comox, B.C. and welcome returning vets, goaltender Victor-Olivier Courchesne along with forward Trevor Hester.
Newcomer Dayton Keith has just joined the club. He is an 18 year old, 6’2″ 195 lb, right shooting defenseman from Comox, B.C. Dayton has spent the last 2 seasons in the VIJHL, with Comox Valley Glacier Kings & the Oceanside Generals. The defensive dman notched 7 points in 49 games. Coach Marc says Dayton brings size and a defense first mentality to our blueline corps.
Starting his 2nd season with the GoldMiners, goaltender Victor-Olivier Courchesne has played his way into the top tier of NOJHL netminders. The ’97 born Quebec City native, joined us part way into last season, played in 21 games, with a 2.72 GAA & a .904 SVS%.
Goalie Coach Brian Bertoncello says Victor has the ability to be among the best in this league.
Also back for his 2nd season with the GoldMiners is Trevor Hestor, from Waskaganish, Quebec. The 19 yr old center is beginning his 4th Junior season and 2nd in KL, joined the club along with now overage brother, Alex, from the Pelham Panthers last season. Trevor got in 24 games and playoffs, totaling 41 games. Trevor makes his mark as a 4th line checker and superb penalty killer, who teamed with Joel Fortin last yr, to be among the league’s best.
