Aiden Wagner Commits To Fredonia

Kirkland Lake GoldMiners Aiden Wagner has graduated to the NCAA. The 21 year old, Fresno, Calif. born, Langley, BC resident has committed to Fredonia State University in New York. The Blue Devils play in the SUNYAC Conference in the D-III ranks.

Wagner, acquired from the Steinbach Pistons of the MJHL, midway through last season, became a big part of the GoldMiners offence, scoring 12 times and adding 6 assists in 23 games. Aiden was on fire in the 6 game playoff series loss to Powassan, notching 5 goals and an assist, to lead the Miners in playoff scoring.

Wags, as he is known, will be studying in the highly regarded Business Program at Fredonia. Aiden says, “Fredonia has such a great history, culture and atmosphere.” Adding “it’s a top notch team in the SUNYAC under Coach Jeff Meredith, a 31 year vet at Fredonia.”

Wagner becomes the 4th GoldMiner to join the NCAA D-III ranks this off-season, joining Dawson Rodin, James Scott & Nick Richards, south of the border in September.
