Tyler Fyfe Commits to Adrian College

KL GoldMiners forward, Tyler Fyfe, Friday announced his commitment to Adrian College, to play ACHA D1 hockey,  in Adrian, Michigan.

Fyfe, a 20 year old right winger from Cloverdale, BC., is the current GoldMiners leading goal scorer, will join former GoldMiners Austin Rust, a senior and Dalton Anderson, a freshman on the Adrian Bulldogs squad. . In his 2 seasons to date with the GoldMiners, Fyfe has 57 goals and 122 pts in 104 games played.

Tyler says, “conversations started at the NOJHL Showcase in Sudbury last October, and progressed from there.” Though Tyler didn’t visit the campus at Adrian, he is familiar with the campus and athletic facilities, having participated at a summer camp there, a few years ago.

Tyler says, “although there are no guarantees of icetime, the Bulldogs staff foresees me progressing into their top 6”.

Tyler credits current coach Ryan Wood along with previous coach Marc Lafleur for helping him mature, “as a player and person”, readying him for this next oportunity.

Though they are from the west coast, Tyler says the family is ecstatic with the decision to attend Adrian College in Michigan.

Tyler says, “when I came east to play junior hockey, it was with the goal of earning a shot to play college hockey and furthering my education”.  Mission accomplished!

As for teammates and fellow NOJHL’ers going through the recruiting process, Tyler advises, “believe in yourself and the process, let the schools know how much you want to be a part of their program, sell yourself!”

Tyler Fyfe becomes the 2nd ‘commit’ this season, joining Max Cavallini, who will join Lake Forest College, in Illinois, in the fall.
