Miners Nation Happenings This Week

It’s been a busy week for Coach & GM Marc Lafleur and his staff.  Last Sunday, newly acquired Blake Cudmore made his debut with the club, notched an assist in Noelville, against French River.

Blake is no stranger to the NOJHL, having played with Abitibi 2 seasons ago. The 20 yr old, from Richmond Hill, 6’1″, 190 lb winger was with Yarmouth and Truro, in the Maritime Jr A Hockey league last season. Blake (@blakec63) on Twitter, is expected to add veteran leadership and scoring punch from the left side.

Midweek the Club announced it had acquired high end winger Alex Storjohann, from the Carleton Place Canadians of the CCHL.

The Anthem, Arizona native had 5 pts in 12 games in the CCHL, but comes to Kirkland Lake with a sterling resume. The 5’11”, 185 winger was on the USPHL Elite league’s top line last season, in Richmond Virginia,  along with Captain Ashton Amaya, scoring 57 points in 42 games. Besides being teammates with Amaya for 5 seasons, Alex was also a teammate of Miners dman TJ Oricchio.

Coach Lafleur thinks both these young men have the ability to be big contributors in our top six.

Friday night both Blake Cudmore and Alex Storjohann  will make their home debuts, as the Timmins Rock come to town for a 7:30 start at the Joe. It is also our Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway Night, as 24 fans will each win a turkey and a meet and greet with a GoldMiner player who will present them with their bird.

Also both ECJV & KLDCS students can take advantage of our 2 for 1 admission deal, with the coupon, on Friday night.

Then Saturday night, we have a Meet & Greet Twoonie Skate at the Complex, from 7-8. All the players will be out on the ice for pictures, chats and fun, join us!
