KIRKLAND LAKE, Ont. – The Kirkland Lake Gold Miners of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League announced Saturday that goaltender Joe Marcouiller has signed with the Fargo Force of the United States Hockey League, the highly touted and top Jr. league in the U.S.

The 18-year-old native of New Brighton, Minn., was instrumental in aiding the Gold Miners efforts in advancing to the NOJHL Copeland Cup – McNamara Trophy championship series as well as the club’s performance in moving on to the semifinal of the Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Canada Jr. A Championship.

“The Miners wish Joe all the best in the USHL,” offered Kirkland Lake director of hockey operations Dave Bolger.

Marcouiller will be heading to North Dakota and joining a Force squad that competes in the eight-team Western Conference of the USHL that features a total of 16 clubs.
